Why UPF50+ swimwear?

Children love summer! Playing outside, building sandcastles, and endlessly enjoying the sun. Sunlight is an important source of energy and stimulates vitamin D production, but too much sun can be harmful. The skin of young children is extra sensitive and can get sunburned within 15 minutes due to the sun's UV radiation. Repeated sunburn at a young age even doubles the risk of skin cancer later in life. Therefore, good sun protection is not a luxury, but a must.

Tip 1

Apply SPF50+ sunscreen and reapply every 2 hours to exposed skin. Make sure to use waterproof sunscreen.

Tip 2

Wear (approved) UV-protective swimwear. UPF50+ is equivalent to SPF50.

*Many covered swimsuits are sold as UPF50+ swimwear, but this is not necessarily the case. Always check carefully whether this is stated on the product.

Tip 3

Seek shade and keep your child out of the sun as much as possible during the hottest part of the day, often between 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM.

Tip 4

Wear a sunhat or cap and protect your eyes with sunglasses.

Tip 5

Lead by example. By following all the tips together, children will often continue to do so in the future. Generation after generation...
